Diagnostika (BVI), a Dubai-based healthscience company plans to launch a series of high-end XY Clinics and Shapes Metabolic Spa in India to address corporate and utive wellness, prevent and treat chronic health conditions. Co-promoted by Sam Rao, Makven Capital and a series of angel investors, the company after having invested in extensive research and development for chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, gastrointestinal and cardio vascular diseases has opened its first high-end XY Clinics in Dubai last month.

XY Clinics opening 3 more facilities in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries later this year along with the opening of the companys global shared services hub in India. These clinics offer 3 to 6 months programs to individuals in the area of chronic disease management. Based on the extensive program research and development, patients get an evidence-based personal diet, vitamin and drug therapy combination to reduce and reverse their conditions.

A combination of 20+ fully owned and franchise XY Clinics for the Indian market will be launched in the next 2 to 3 years. Each clinic is estimated to cost about US$500,000 and projected to breakeven in 2 years. Says Sam Rao, Founder and CEO, to the press at Bangalore India Bio 2012, during the bio-partnering event, XY Clinics offers a new kind of patient care which involves extensive uation and assessment using advanced molecular diagnostics, nutritional therapy based on the patient’s metabolism and genes. Physicians working at XY Clinics will be trained in Dubai by some of the leading experts in respective fields.

India suffers from a fast-increasing chronic disease burden, says Kapil Khandelwal, Director, Makven Capital, biopharma investors and one of the thought leaders on chronic disease management in India.
