According to Dr. Poongothai Aladi Aruna, Minister of Information Technology, Chennai has the highest number of obese persons in India. The prence of obesity in the city is more than in some developed countries. The Minister said studies had found that obesity led to psychosomatic problems along with physical discomfiture.
