CSIR-Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIR-CSIO), Chandigarh today transferred the technology of VIHBRA-Virtual Intelligence in Home Based Rehabilitation to M/s Biomed Inc., New Delhi.


VIHBRA-Virtual Intelligence in Home Based Rehabilitation is a virtual intelligent platform for motor rehabilitation. VIHBRA combines experience from virtual reality and knowledge from machine intelligence to enhance neural reorganisation that optimize the physical rehabilitation outcomes in patients with disability. It provides stimulating sensory feedback to promote motor learning and encompasses tools that help to understand the biology of disability. Significantly, the platform attempts to augment clinical measurement tools like functional reach test and introduce a novel rehabilitation cycle using block arrangement approach.

On behalf of CSIR-CSIO the Transfer of Technology (ToT) agreement was signed by Dr. Amod Kumar, Chief Scientist & Head, Business Initiatives & Project Planning (BIPP), CSIR-Central Scientific Instruments Organisation, Chandigarh, and for M/s Biomed Inc., New Delhi, Shri Nityanand, its Managing Director.

This Transfer of Technology is a part of sustained efforts of CSIR-CSIO to disseminate state of the art technologies to the industry for the societal good in accordance with the mandate of the organisation. Rapid prototyping and ToT for a series of products in the recent past has indeed enhanced the visibility of CSIR-CSIO at Chandigarh. Scientists of CSIR-CSIO have very well aligned the R&D work to the various missions of Government of India like Swachh Bharat , Swasth Bharat, Samarth Bharat and Sashakt Bharat.
