Formulations maker Theon Group has added a fourth company to its manufacturing platform, acquiring Maneesh Pharma’s Unit VI in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, through a slump sale. The plant will now run as Zoevita Lifesciences Ltd.

The deal gives the group a ready, operating oral-solids site in one of India’s largest pharmaceutical clusters, at a time when formulators are looking for capacity that can serve both the domestic market and export customers without the lead time of a greenfield build.
What Theon is getting
According to the group, the Baddi facility manufactures pharmaceutical and nutraceutical products in three dosage forms. Its stated annual capacity is:

- 3,000 million tablets
- 150 million capsules
- 30 million sachets
Zoevita holds WHO-GMP certification and lists regulatory approvals or market authorisations linked to Ethiopia (EFDA), Tanzania (TMDA), Uganda (NDA), Uzbekistan, Myanmar and Yemen. The company says it is working towards adding oral liquid manufacturing sections at the site, which would widen the range of products it can make for Indian and overseas buyers.
A broader manufacturing platform
Zoevita joins Theon Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Theon Lifesciences Ltd and Theogen Pvt Ltd in the group. Theon Pharmaceuticals is a PIC/S and WHO-GMP certified finished-dosage manufacturer with separate general, penicillin and cephalosporin blocks covering tablets, capsules, dry syrups, ointments and dry powder injections, and says it exports to more than 45 countries across Africa, Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.
Theon Lifesciences, the group’s newer sterile facility at Derabassi near Mohali in Punjab, has begun commercial production of liquid and lyophilised injectables, prefilled syringes, ampoules and eye/ear drops. The group says the plant was designed to US FDA and EU-GMP expectations, received WHO-GMP certification in May 2026, and is targeting EU-GMP, ANVISA and EAEU audits. Theogen is the group’s domestic marketing arm for generic medicines.
Why it matters
Acquiring an operating, approved plant is increasingly the faster route for mid-sized Indian formulators that want more volume and export registrations. Brownfield purchases avoid multi-year construction and site-approval timelines, and an existing set of country registrations can shorten the path to new markets, particularly across Africa and Asia where WHO-GMP and local-regulator approvals carry weight.
The deal follows other recent capacity purchases in Himachal Pradesh’s pharma belt, including Biodeal Pharmaceuticals’ acquisition of Biological E’s sterile-injectables plant at Paonta Sahib earlier this month, as companies consolidate operating units into larger, more diversified manufacturing groups.
Theon Group said the acquisition is intended to support its expansion plans and help it serve customers in domestic and international markets. Financial terms of the slump sale were not disclosed.
