MRI scanner, representational image for AI-led preventive whole-body health scans

Bengaluru-based preventive health startup Cent, co-founded by Practo founder Shashank ND, has raised $15 million (about ₹143 crore) in a Series A round co-led by Blume Ventures and existing investor South Park Commons. Alongside the fundraise, the company has acquired Medsee, an AI-powered radiology reporting workflow platform, as it prepares for a sharp rise in scan volumes.

The round, which combines equity and debt, also drew individual investors including former Vodafone CEO Arun Sarin, former OpenAI B2B CTO Srinivas Narayanan, Sharath Narayana, Krishna Sridhar and Aprameya Radhakrishna. Cent did not disclose its valuation or the split between equity and debt. The raise comes roughly eight months after an earlier undisclosed round from South Park Commons and OneFlow Holdings, Shashank’s family office.

Finding disease before symptoms

Founded in 2025 by Shashank ND, former Ola Electric CMO Anshul Khandelwal and former Lenskart product head Arpit Garg, Cent combines purpose-built hardware, AI-driven radiology and diagnostics, and bioinformatics to screen people who feel healthy for serious conditions such as cancer, cardiac disease and neurological disorders.

Its flagship Cent Check packs a full-body MRI, low-dose CT, DEXA bone density scan, ECG, echocardiography and more than 100 biomarkers into a single visit of about two hours. A proprietary CCNM protocol, covering cancer, cardiac, neurological and metabolic risk, pulls the results into one consolidated view that specialist doctors review before members receive a doctor-led plan and year-round support. AI is used to merge findings across modalities into organ-level risk assessments and to shorten MRI scan times.

10,000 scans so far, 10 million the target

Cent says it has completed about 10,000 preventive whole-body scans across Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi NCR, where it runs its own centres alongside an earlier network of partner labs. According to the company, one in four members who arrived feeling healthy had a finding that needed action, and one in 40 needed immediate medical attention, including early-stage tumours, narrowed arteries and aneurysms.

“India’s healthcare system is still built to treat illness, not to find it early. We believe the next shift is preventive care that is precise and accessible at scale. Our first 10,000 scans have shown us how much that shift is needed,” said co-founder Anshul Khandelwal.

The company is targeting 10 million scans by 2035. It also plans to use its growing dataset on asymptomatic Indians to build population-specific health baselines, train models that flag disease risk earlier, and support clinical research.

Where the money goes

The fresh capital will go into research and development, hardware, AI capabilities and the expansion of Cent’s clinical and engineering teams. The Medsee acquisition brings structured AI-generated radiology reports that highlight findings for review by qualified professionals, aimed at keeping reporting fast and consistent as volumes grow.

“When we were introduced to Shashank and the team that came together to build Cent, we saw an obsessive ambition to solve for accurate diagnosis and protocols for cancers amongst other indications,” said Karthik Reddy, co-founder and managing partner at Blume Ventures.

Why it matters

Most Indian healthcare spending still kicks in after symptoms appear. Cent’s bet is that AI-assisted imaging can bring the cost and time of comprehensive screening down far enough to make early detection routine, and that the resulting data can feed India-specific diagnostic models. How quickly that translates into affordable access beyond metro centres will be the test for the model.
