The Karnataka Health Department is set to launch a comprehensive e-Health project aimed at accelerating the digitisation of the state’s public healthcare system. The initiative will introduce paperless hospitals, broadband connectivity across government health facilities, and tele-ICU services in selected hospitals to improve healthcare delivery.

Announcing the initiative, Health Minister UT Khader said all Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Community Health Centres (CHCs), and taluk hospitals will be equipped with broadband internet to support seamless digital healthcare services. The state also plans to expand its paperless hospital initiative, which has already been piloted in select hospitals.

The e-Health project is designed to strengthen digital health infrastructure by enabling electronic health records, improving patient data management, reducing paperwork, and facilitating faster clinical decision-making.

Tele-ICU facilities will further enhance access to specialist care, particularly for patients in remote and underserved regions.

The initiative reflects Karnataka’s continued focus on leveraging technology to modernise healthcare services, improve operational efficiency, and ensure better access to quality medical care across the state.
