KEF Holdings’ decision to enter its flagship institution Meitra Hospital in partnership with the private equity giant KKK marks a pivotal point for the Kozhikode based hospital. In joining forces with the global investment firm, Meitra Hospital aims to accelerate its services of delivering world class healthcare across India, all the while retaining their original vision of quality and compassion.
Faizal Kottikollon, the founder and chairman of Meitra Hospital emphasized the continuity of this vision. He stated that, “Meitra Hospital was founded with the dream of bringing the world’s best healthcare practices and infrastructure to Kozhikode. This strategic partnership with KKR’s healthcare platform will enable us to accelerate that vision, expand our capabilities, and deliver even greater value to the communities we serve. Together, we are building a future-ready healthcare institution for India”
With this tie up, Faizal Kottikollon also emphasized that he would continue to serve as a chairman, ensuring continuity of their vision and leadership. He believes that this move will help them grow not only in size but also in quality and reach.
Established in 2012, Meitra is a 450,000 sq.ft quaternary care facility with 220 patient rooms and suites, eight advanced operation theatres, and 52 intensive care units. It has quickly earned a reputation for high end infrastructure, clinical excellence, and patient centric care. With the partnership, Meitra is expected to enhance its speciality offerings including oncology and advanced surgical care while also broadening its reach to patients beyond Kerala.
This tie up with KKK, a global investment firm with an increasing footprint in India’s healthcare sector underscores the growing role of private capital in bridging the country’s healthcare gaps. By combining Meitra’s medical expertise and patient focus with KKR’s resources and scale, the collaboration aims to meet rising demand for advanced healthcare services in tier 2 cities and beyond.
