Global Health, the parent company behind Medanta hospitals, has unveiled plans to expand into New Delhi with a new 750-bed super-specialty hospital in Pitampura. Under a management agreement with the Dr Narayan Dutt Shirmali Foundation International Charitable Trust Society, Medanta will oversee the hospital’s daily operations once it becomes operational within the next four years.

As part of the investment strategy, Medanta has committed INR 600 crore over the next three to four years, funding the project’s capital expenditures through a blend of internal resources and debt. While the Dr Narayan Dutt Shirmali Foundation will manage the main building and structural development, Medanta will lead the installation of all internal facilities, including electrical systems, plumbing, furniture, and advanced medical equipment.

The hospital will span approximately 7.6 lakh square feet on a 7-acre site along New Delhi’s Outer Ring Road, strategically located to serve the local, high-density population. The facility will offer a comprehensive array of specialized medical services across more than 30 disciplines, including cardiology, neurology, oncology, orthopedics, digestive and hepatobiliary sciences, robotic surgery, regenerative medicine, and transplant services.

Dr. Naresh Trehan, Chairman and Managing Director of Medanta, highlighted the significance of the project, saying, “This hospital aligns with our mission to deliver high-quality, quaternary care and will enable us to serve communities in Delhi for generations to come.”

This latest development complements Medanta’s recent expansion efforts, including a significant investment in a new super-specialty hospital in Mumbai. Announced in August, the Mumbai facility will be built with an investment of INR 1,200 crore, with over 500 beds planned to meet the medical needs of Mumbai and surrounding areas.

With this upcoming facility, Medanta is poised to further elevate healthcare accessibility in New Delhi, bringing advanced, specialized care closer to residents.
