In a significant move towards advancing healthcare research and promoting traditional Indian medicine, the Union Minister of AYUSH, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, and the Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, are set to launch several key initiatives tomorrow.

The highlight of the event will be the inauguration of the Ayush-ICMR Advanced Centre for Integrative Health Research (AI-ACIHR) at four prestigious AIIMS institutions across the nation. These centers, located in Delhi, Jodhpur, Nagpur, and Rishikesh, will focus on various aspects of integrative health research, including gastrointestinal disorders, women and child health, geriatric health, and cancer care.

Additionally, the Ministers will announce the commencement of a multicenter clinical trial on anaemia, a widespread health concern in India. The trial, titled “Efficacy and safety of Punarnavadi Mandura alone and in combination with Drakshavaleha compared to iron folic acid,” will be conducted at eight different sites, including AIIMS Jodhpur, AIIMS New Delhi, and KEM Hospital Research Centre.

Furthermore, the launch of Indian Public Health Standards for Ayush healthcare facilities will set a benchmark for quality infrastructure, human resources, and medicines in Ayush institutions. By adopting these standards, states and union territories can ensure the delivery of high-quality Ayush healthcare services to the population.

The event will also mark the 27th Convocation of Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth, where distinguished vaidyas will be honored for their contributions to the field of Ayurveda. Notably, around 201 students enrolled under the Guru Shishya Parampara will be awarded the Certificate in Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth (CRAV), symbolizing their dedication to traditional Indian medicine.

Furthermore, a two-day national seminar on “Ayurvedo Amritanam” will delve into various aspects of Ayurveda, including post-COVID health management and immunity through Ayurveda.

Overall, these initiatives underscore the government’s commitment to advancing integrative health research, promoting traditional Indian medicine, and ensuring the highest standards of healthcare delivery across the nation.
