“At Avisa, our mission is to address the challenges within the healthcare ecosystem, leading us to create a system that not only operates as a smart hospital but also connects various healthcare services into a centralized network. This allows for seamless interaction within the ecosystem. Our approach to smart technology is focused not just on incorporating gadgets and information for their own sake, but on using these tools to resolve specific issues”, shared Vikash Sharma, Group CEO, Avisa Smart Hospitals.

He stated, “We have become the largest network of smart hospitals in India, comprising 300 hospitals. This expansion signifies the high adaptability and effectiveness of our solutions both for hospitals and patients. Hospitals are increasingly seeking our expertise to transform into smart healthcare facilities.”

Our focus is twofold: first, to transform traditional hospitals into smart ones, and second, to revamp struggling hospitals by enhancing their operational and financial efficiency through automation and technology. This approach has significantly improved the performance of distressed hospitals.

In our model of a smart hospital, technology and automation are not just add-ons but are integral to addressing the pain points of patients, doctors, and hospitals. We’ve identified key challenges in each of these areas and devised technological solutions to address them.

“For patients, common issues include determining where and how to seek treatment, long wait times, insurance hurdles, managing medical files, delays in diagnostics, and obtaining medications and lab tests. To solve these, we developed a comprehensive patient engagement platform, encapsulated in a super app. This app connects patients directly to hospital services, offering functionalities like appointment booking, vital signs monitoring, direct ordering of lab tests and medications from hospitals, access to patient finance options, emergency services, and more”, he added.

For hospitals, challenges like patient acquisition and retention, manual insurance processes, queue management, and delays in diagnostics are significant. Our solutions include a face recognition system for quick registration, robotic assistants for vital sign collection and teleconsultations, automated insurance processing, and advanced remote patient monitoring technologies.

We also focus on mental wellness, offering a bio ring that monitors stress levels and sleep patterns, linking this data to the hospital’s electronic medical records (EMR). Additionally, we provide digital solutions for paperwork and consultations, and innovative tools like the IoT mini lab for rapid blood and urine testing and real-time ICU monitoring devices.

Our system is integrated with various hospital management systems and complies with health data protection standards. We also provide detailed analytics for hospitals to monitor their performance across various parameters, including patient visits, lab and radiology services, revenue, and patient admissions, he concluded.
