Uttar Pradesh government to establish Emergency Trauma Care Network

Trauma Care Network

Working tirelessly towards strengthening the healthcare network in the state, the Uttar Pradesh Government is working on setting up an Emergency Trauma Care Network in the state with the doubling of ALS (advanced life support) ambulances, the establishment of 3,000 primary health centres as well as making 33 level two and 14 level one trauma centres operational. Apart from this, the government also plans to create a mobile app and a call centre in the next two years.

The announcement assumes significance in the wake of the fact that as many as 21,227 people were killed in road accidents last year. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently expressed serious concern over the number of deaths in road accidents in the state and announced a slew of measures to prevent mishaps, which included raising awareness of traffic rules and regulations and enforcing them, conducting round the clock patrolling on highways as well as penalising those involved in running unauthorised parking lots.

It may be mentioned here that UP is the first state in the country to run Live Emergency Monitoring System. It receives 40,000 calls on a daily basis and renders its services to three lakh patients annually.

Uttar Pradesh government also plans to set up e-hospital facilities at 33 medical colleges in the state in the next couple of years.

The e-hospitals provide an online patient portal for delivery of citizen-centric services like online appointment booking, access to lab reports online and blood availability status. It is an open-source health information management system (HMIS), which is configurable and easily customisable with multi-tenancy support.

The government also seeks to provide employment to one lakh people in the health education sector in the next five years.

Furthermore, the Yogi government plans to set up 49 each nursing and paramedical schools. The Government also seeks to increase the total number of nursing and paramedical seats to 14500 and 3600 respectively.
