With the pandemic emphasising the significance of the Preventive Healthcare and the Diagnostics sector, the change in perception has led to an increase in awareness about available services.
The need of the hour is to build stronger testing infrastructure for the future, ensuring accessibility, reliability and affordability of IVD services. Accounting for less than 10 % of the total healthcare spent, 70% of all medical decisions are dependent on laboratory results, hence the announcement of the Union Budget must galvanise the growth of the sector.

As a means towards disease prevention, screening for NCDs and personalized medicine must be incentivized. We need to work together with the government to create reimbursement policies and payment methods based on the value that diagnostics offers, and not just volume of tests run. Also, better partnerships between Public and Private players to ensure diagnostic care is available to all, will reduce out-of-pocket expenditure incurred by patients.
