AIIMS in New Delhi on 7 June had started screening of children for the trial of single-dose Covaxin among those in 2 and 18 age groups. Its screening for the trial of the country’s maiden indigenously developed Covid-19 vaccine is over.

The clinical trial on children has already begun at AIIMS Patna to find out if the Covaxin jab is suitable for children. The participants would be administered the vaccine once their screening report arrives.

On May 12, the country’s drug regulator had permitted to conduct the phase 2/3 clinical trial of Covaxin in 2 to 18 years the age group.
