There seems to be no immediate respite in sight from Coronavirus pandemic as cases continue to rise in unprecedented manner. On Friday, India reported more than 14,000 cases in a day, taking the total tally nearly to 4 lakh.

As per the official data, 14,574 cases reported on Friday which led to total cases to 3.95 lakh. Citizens in Delhi and Maharashtra which are among worst affected states continue to reel under fear.

On Friday, the national capital reported 3,137 cases while Maharashtra saw 3,827 cases in a day. The total Covid-19 cases reported in the month of June so far had crossed the 2 lakh mark, and stood at 2,10,655 on Friday night, a as per data from state governments. June cases now account for 53% of all coronavirus infections detected so far in the country, a TOI report stated.

Likewise 7,484 deaths out of the total toll of 12,888 had been declared in June. By comparison, the month of May had recorded 1.5 lakh cases and 4,267 deaths.

However, the recovery rate has improved up to 54.12 percent as per the health ministry.
