India recorded its third coronavirus infection death on Tuesday, as the number surges to 125. A 64-year-old woman, died in Maharahstra, the state that has reported highest cases of COVID-19 in India. Last week, World Health Organisation has declared COVID-19 a pandemic across the globe.

The woman, who contracted coronavirus, was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai.


Last week, two people- 68-year-old woman in Delhi and a 76-year-old woman in Karnataka died due the virus. There is an explosion of cases in India as the Modi government is trying to contain the epidemic.

The COVID- 19, which originated from China’s Wuhan city in December as affected over 140 countries as 7,000 people died across the globe.

To contain the virus, the govt has asked for lockdown of schools, colleges, gyms across the country. The Maharashtra govt has started marking those under home quarantine as the number of cases in state are surging every day.


Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said the govt has not yet taken decision on ordering complete lockdown in the state.
