NEET 2020

Registration process for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET 2020 would begin from December 2.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) would be conducting the exam for providing admission to undergraduate courses in medical colleges across the country on May 3, 2020. Those candidates who cherish the dream to become doctors can apply online on official website neet.nta.nic.in.

As per reports, there may not be a separate exam for admission into AIIMS MBBS and JIPMER MBBS programmes this year and those candidates need to appear for NEET exam only.

Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare Dr. Harsh Vardhan had recently stated that NEET would be the only medical entrance examination in India from 2020, though no official circulation has been released yet. The Health Minister had stated that the admission to both AIIMS and JIPMER would also come under the ambit of NEET examination as per the newly constituted NMC Act 2019.

The Minister had said NEET exam would be conducted from 2020 for admission into medical colleges, but whether the rule applies from 2020 or 2021 batch, there is bit ambiguity on this front.

Notably, there is no upper age limit for students to appear for AIIMS and JIPMER exam contrary to NEET exam.

The National Testing Agency would be releasing NEET 2020 notification by December 1, 2019 and students are advised to be on the alert. The registration process would begin on the official website from December 2. It’s important to note that AIIMS MBBS 2020 examination dates have not been released as yet.
