HealthSciences Institute has announced it will partner with the Disease Management Association of India (DMAI) to support the application of disease management strategies, knowledge and tools in India. HSI will first offer the Chronic Care Professional (CCP) eLearning certification program, on which it partners with DMAA: The Care Continuum Alliance, to India’s physicians, nurses and other health care professionals, followed by live CCP sessions beginning in 2009. HSI and DMAI will also be working on a number of other joint efforts in and outside of India. “Health care is incomplete without disease management,” said Rajendra Pratap Gupta, DMAI Board President. “We recognize that disease management is the right model of population care and requires new knowledge and skills. We want our providers to be prepared in accordance with the highest international standards. By partnering with HSI, we believe, that we will be able to deliver matchless value to all stakeholders in this continuum of care” “Chronic diseases are the biggest threats to health worldwide and all citizens can benefit from evidence-based medical care and evidence-based health coaching and disease self-management support,” said Blake T. Andersen, PhD, President and CEO of HSI. “We look forward to working with DMAI to adapt international best practices in population health improvement for use in India.”
