Akums

Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals Ltd, a leading contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO), has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sharda University, Agra, to establish a long-term collaboration focused on pharmaceutical research, technology transfer, and industry-aligned skill development. The partnership aims to bridge the gap between academic innovation and industrial application, while building a future-ready talent pipeline for India’s pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.

Framework for Research and Innovation

Under the MoU, Akums and Sharda University will collaborate across research, innovation, training, and industry exposure. By combining Sharda University’s academic and research expertise with Akums’ manufacturing scale and R&D ecosystem, the alliance seeks to accelerate the development of next-generation pharmaceutical solutions. A key area of focus will be joint research on emerging molecules and advanced drug delivery systems, aligned with evolving industry and patient needs. The partnership will also support technology transfer, enabling promising academic research to progress towards commercially viable pharmaceutical products.

Industry Exposure and Talent Development

The collaboration places strong emphasis on experiential learning. Students from Sharda University will gain access to structured internship programmes at Akums’ manufacturing facilities, providing hands-on exposure to pharmaceutical production, quality systems, regulatory compliance, and R&D processes. In addition, industrial visits will be organised to familiarise students with large-scale pharmaceutical operations and industry best practices, helping them gain practical insights beyond classroom learning.

Joint Training and Knowledge Exchange

As part of the agreement, Akums and Sharda University will jointly conduct seminars, workshops, and technical training programmes. These initiatives are designed to strengthen students’ technical capabilities, enhance industry readiness, and improve employability across pharmaceutical and allied sectors.
