Morphle Labs raises $5 mn in series A funding

Deeptech pathology startup Morphle Labs Inc. has raised $5 million (approx. INR 44.6 crore) in a Series A round led by Inflexor Ventures, marking a significant boost for India’s growing medical diagnostics innovation landscape. The funding will accelerate the company’s global expansion plans and strengthen its suite of automated tissue-diagnostics technologies.

The Bengaluru-headquartered startup, which also operates in the US, will channel the new capital into scaling manufacturing capabilities for its core products — RoboTome and MorphoLens — while simultaneously working toward regulatory approvals in key international markets. Morphle Labs also plans to expand hiring across engineering, optics, robotics, and AI research to support its next phase of product development.

Founded in 2017 by Rohit Hiwale and Anchit Navelkar, Morphle Labs develops advanced diagnostic automation systems by combining robotics, precision hardware, optical engineering, and AI-driven imaging. The company has already filed over 80 patents, signalling its strong focus on IP-led growth across robotics, embedded systems, and medical imaging.

Cutting-Edge Automation for Cancer Diagnostics

Morphle’s flagship products are positioned to transform lab workflows, particularly in high-volume pathology centres:

  • RoboTome: An automated tissue-sectioning system that prepares thin, high-quality slices for microscope slides — a critical step for accurate cancer detection.
  • MorphoLens: A high-resolution digital slide scanner used by clinicians and lab technicians to analyse subtle cellular changes with greater speed and consistency.
  • HemoLabs: A specialised solution designed to identify and sort blood cells and platelet fragments, supporting various haematology workflows.

These tools aim to address persistent challenges in pathology labs, including manual variability, diagnostic delays, and workforce shortages.

With its latest round, Morphle Labs is now gearing up to deepen its global presence across the US and European markets, positioning itself as a key player in the automation of cancer diagnostics — an area gaining urgency as healthcare systems worldwide face rising cancer burdens and demands for precision medicine.
