India and Indosnesia

India and Indonesia have reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation by strengthening partnerships across healthcare, pharmaceuticals, food security, and energy security, marking a significant step in their growing Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The renewed collaboration was announced during high-level bilateral talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in Jakarta, where both leaders agreed to broaden engagement in key sectors that support sustainable development and regional resilience.

Healthcare and pharmaceuticals emerged as major areas of cooperation, with both countries pledging to enhance collaboration in the production of affordable medicines, vaccine development, medical research, and healthcare infrastructure. The leaders also discussed strengthening resilient pharmaceutical supply chains and encouraging greater cooperation between healthcare institutions, research organisations, and industry to improve access to quality healthcare services.

Beyond healthcare, India and Indonesia agreed to deepen collaboration in food and energy security, recognising the importance of resilient agricultural systems and diversified energy partnerships in addressing global economic and climate-related challenges. The two countries also committed to expanding cooperation in critical minerals, digital technologies, artificial intelligence, education, and innovation to support long-term economic growth and technological advancement.

The enhanced partnership is expected to create new opportunities for collaboration across public health, life sciences, clean energy, agriculture, and digital innovation. By reinforcing cooperation in these critical sectors, India and Indonesia are laying the foundation for a more resilient and future-ready partnership that supports inclusive growth and shared prosperity while addressing emerging global challenges.
