The Central Government has approved ₹120 crore in performance-linked financial assistance for Mizoram to strengthen the state’s public health infrastructure during 2026–27. Chief Minister Lalduhoma announced the allocation during his visit to Zoram Medical College & Hospital (ZMCH) in Falkawn, highlighting the state’s progress in key healthcare performance indicators.

According to the Chief Minister, Mizoram qualified for the incentive by achieving improvements in the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) and increasing the number of healthcare facilities certified under the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS). The performance-based funding is expected to enhance healthcare infrastructure, improve service delivery, and strengthen access to quality medical care across the state.

The ₹120 crore allocation will support the state’s ongoing efforts to modernise healthcare facilities, upgrade medical infrastructure, and improve patient care. The announcement underscores the growing emphasis on performance-driven investments in India’s healthcare sector, encouraging states to strengthen health systems through improved quality standards, better infrastructure, and enhanced patient outcomes.
