Zydus Group has announced the elevation of Dr. Tushar Nahata to Vice President, marking a key leadership advancement as the organisation continues to strengthen its capabilities in complex injectable formulation development for global markets.

Dr. Nahata’s promotion reflects his nearly decade-long association with Zydus, during which he has played a central role in expanding formulation development excellence, particularly in injectable dosage forms for regulated markets. In his new role, he will be responsible for driving strategic depth across injectable portfolios while reinforcing alignment across development, quality, and regulatory functions globally.

A Proven Leadership Journey within Zydus

Dr. Nahata has demonstrated a consistent trajectory of growth within the organisation, progressing through senior leadership roles including Deputy General Manager, General Manager, and Senior General Manager. Across these positions, he has led end-to-end development programs for complex injectable products, contributed to lifecycle management strategies, and supported regulatory submissions for key international markets.

His work has been instrumental in strengthening Zydus Group’s injectable pipeline, enabling scalable development and commercialisation readiness across the US, EU, and other regulated geographies.

Deep Industry and Scientific Expertise

Prior to his current tenure, Dr. Nahata held leadership and technical roles at Zydus Cadila, where he focused on injectable formulation development for regulated markets. Earlier in his career, he contributed to Matrix Laboratories Ltd., working on ophthalmic and parenteral formulations, and began his professional journey at Sun Pharma, where he supported the development of microsphere-based depot injections and lyophilised injectable products.

His diverse industry experience spans parenterals, ophthalmics, microspheres, and advanced drug delivery systems, positioning him as a well-rounded scientific and operational leader within pharmaceutical R&D.

Strong Academic Foundation

Dr. Nahata holds a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics, along with an M.Pharm in Industrial Pharmacy and a B.Pharm degree. His doctoral research focused on depot injectable antipsychotic formulations, and he has also served as a research scholar and lecturer at SGSITS, teaching pharmacokinetics, novel drug delivery systems, and regulatory affairs.

This blend of academic rigour and industrial experience has underpinned his ability to translate complex science into commercially viable pharmaceutical solutions.
