Zydus and RK Pharma

Zydus Lifesciences Ltd., one of India’s leading innovation-driven healthcare companies, has announced an exclusive licensing and commercialisation agreement with RK Pharma Inc., USA for a novel sterile injectable oncology supportive care product developed under the 505(b)(2) regulatory pathway. The partnership strengthens Zydus’ growing presence in the US complex generics and speciality formulations market.

Under the collaboration, RK Pharma will handle manufacturing and supply of the finished dosage form, while Zydus will oversee NDA submission and commercialisation across the US market. The product is expected to be filed with the USFDA in 2026.

The upcoming 505(b)(2)-based formulation has been designed to reduce dosing errors and improve compliance for healthcare professionals—an area of increasing importance in oncology settings where treatment precision is critical. The product targets a sizeable commercial opportunity, with a total addressable market (TAM) of 6.2 million units as per IQVIA MAT September 2025 data.
