New facility brings global innovation, advanced analytics, and regulatory-ready solutions to India’s biopharma ecosystem.

Agilent Technologies, a global leader in life sciences and diagnostics, has launched its Biopharma Experience Centre in Hyderabad, Telangana. This new centre represents a strategic investment in India’s rapidly advancing life sciences ecosystem and aims to serve as a catalyst for drug development, regulatory compliance, and innovation in biologics and biosimilars.

The facility was formally inaugurated by Shri Duddila Sridhar Babu, Hon’ble Minister for Information Technology, Electronics, Communications, and Industries, Government of Telangana, in the presence of Padraig McDonnell, President and CEO of Agilent Technologies, alongside key stakeholders from India’s pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.

A Hub for End-to-End Drug Development Support

The new centre is equipped with advanced technologies that support the full lifecycle of biopharmaceutical development. With integrated capabilities in chromatography, mass spectrometry, cell analysis, and lab informatics, it provides pharma and biotech companies with a real-lab simulation environment for quality testing, compliance validation, and solution co-creation.

Designed to address the growing needs of India’s biosimilars, biologics, and precision medicine segments, the centre aligns with Agilent’s global vision of delivering faster, scalable, and compliant therapies to market. The facility also offers hands-on training aligned with international regulatory frameworks, fostering a stronger bridge between academia, research, and commercial applications.

Strategic Role in Hyderabad’s Life Sciences Ecosystem

Hyderabad has emerged as India’s leading life sciences and pharmaceutical hub, contributing to nearly one-third of the country’s pharmaceutical production and 40% of bulk drug exports. The city is home to over 230 USFDA-approved manufacturing units and a growing cluster of global pharma giants and top healthcare chains.

Shri Duddila Sridhar Babu noted during the inauguration, “Hyderabad is a complete healthcare ecosystem—from innovation and manufacturing to quality care. The launch of Agilent’s Biopharma Experience Centre further cements Telangana’s reputation as a global life sciences leader. It complements our focus on innovation, talent development, and global collaboration.”

Commitment to ‘Make in India’ and Sustainable Innovation

Agilent’s new Hyderabad centre is part of a broader multi-year India growth strategy, which includes expanding its Solution Centre in Manesar, deepening client relationships, and strengthening India’s position as a critical node in Agilent’s global innovation network.

Padraig McDonnell, CEO, Agilent Technologies, remarked, “India is a priority market for us, and Hyderabad sits at the heart of biopharma innovation. With this facility, we aim to empower local researchers, enable faster regulatory-ready drug development, and support India’s healthcare mission with integrated, sustainable, and affordable solutions.”

By addressing critical infrastructure and training gaps in analytical science, the Biopharma Experience Centre is set to play a transformative role in India’s journey toward becoming a global powerhouse in next-generation drug development.
