Investment of ₹30 Cr Aims to Build Deeper Health Infrastructure Across Urban and Semi-Urban Areas
Zeno Health has announced the opening of 75 new medical stores across key cities in Maharashtra: Mumbai, Pune, and Nashik. This expansion takes the company’s total store count in the state to 260, reinforcing its mission to build a robust, on-ground health infrastructure that prioritises affordability, quality, and accessibility.

The initiative will generate over 500 new jobs for licensed pharmacists, positioning it as a significant employment driver within the healthcare ecosystem. Zeno Health will invest ₹30 crore over the next year to support this scale-up, including infrastructure development, inventory procurement, workforce hiring, and technology integration across both its offline and digital platforms.

Bridging the Affordability Gap in Healthcare
While Maharashtra has seen a reduction in out-of-pocket health expenditure, from 44.1% in 2019–20 to 38.1% in 2021–22 as per National Health Accounts, affordability and accessibility remain significant challenges for large segments of the population. High medication costs and inadequate access often lead to skipped or delayed treatments, particularly in semi-urban and underserved areas.

Zeno Health addresses this gap by leveraging a direct-to-manufacturer sourcing model, effectively eliminating middlemen and ensuring genuine, high-quality medicines are made available to consumers at up to 60% lower costs. The model enhances pricing transparency while enabling consistent supply and reliability.

Expanding Reach and Responsibility
Siddharth Gadia, Co-founder and CEO of Zeno Health, highlighted the deeper intent behind the company’s expansion, stating, “This is more than just a retail growth story. It’s about extending our commitment to communities that are often left behind in India’s healthcare narrative. Our vision is to serve 1 crore Indians every month, proving that access to high-quality and affordable healthcare is not a privilege, but a right.”
Since its founding in 2017 by IIT Bombay alumni, Zeno Health has impacted over 30 lakh customers and facilitated cumulative savings of ₹1000+ crore on medicine bills. With a growing physical presence and the support of its digital assets, such as the Zeno Health app and website, the company has built a resilient omnichannel healthcare delivery model trusted by millions.
Empowering Pharmacists: Building a Purpose-Driven Workforce
At the core of Zeno Health’s expansion is a people-first approach, with pharmacists playing a vital role in delivering healthcare impact at scale.
Himanshu Bhavsar, Chief People Officer at Zeno Health, noted, “Pharmacists are the cornerstone of our promise to patients. We’re offering them more than employment—we’re offering them a platform to serve with purpose. Every interaction they have with a customer is a chance to improve lives. That’s the kind of mission-driven culture we are nurturing.”
The recruitment drive for 500+ licensed pharmacists across Maharashtra is part of Zeno’s broader strategy to not only strengthen frontline service delivery but also invest in healthcare talent development, creating long-term growth pathways for healthcare professionals.

A Scalable Model for India’s Future Healthcare Landscape
Zeno Health’s unique model, combining affordability, accessibility, and technology, continues to evolve as a blueprint for scalable healthcare access in India. Its private-label portfolio under ‘GoodAid’, featuring WHO-GMP and FDA-compliant manufacturing, ensures stringent quality control across its offerings.
With this latest expansion, Zeno Health is poised to play an increasingly critical role in addressing India’s healthcare access disparities. As the company deepens its roots in Maharashtra, it sets the tone for similar expansions in other states, furthering its goal to democratize health access across the country.
