In a landmark announcement, the Adani Group has committed ₹8,000 crore toward developing state-of-the-art health infrastructure and skilling institutions. The mega investment was unveiled by Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani during his shareholder address, underscoring the group’s not-for-profit mission to build inclusive, tech-driven, and future-ready institutions.

Adani Health Cities in Ahmedabad and Mumbai in Collaboration with Mayo Clinic

At the heart of this initiative is the launch of Adani Health City (AHC): A visionary network of integrated healthcare campuses. The first two flagship AHCs will be established in Ahmedabad and Mumbai, each housing a 1,000-bed, multi-super-speciality hospital developed in collaboration with the globally renowned Mayo Clinic, USA.

Designed as centres of excellence in medical innovation and patient-centric care, the campuses will also include medical colleges with an annual intake of 150 undergraduate students, over 80 residents, and 40 clinical fellows. These campuses will further house dedicated research hubs, wellness zones, and step-down care units, forming a cohesive model of preventive, curative, and holistic health services.

Speaking at the shareholder meeting, Gautam Adani stated, “Exactly three years ago, on my 60th birthday, my family committed ₹60,000 crore toward healthcare, education, and skill development. The Adani Health Cities are our first transformative step in realising this vision. These health temples will serve people from all socio-economic strata and redefine the contours of medical education, research, and delivery.”

The Mayo Clinic will play an instrumental role in shaping the clinical and operational standards of AHCs, bringing international benchmarks to Indian soil. Through its global advisory wing, the Mayo Clinic will help build a robust AI-enabled healthcare delivery ecosystem that integrates biomedical informatics, clinical research, and precision diagnostics.

The Adani family has earmarked over ₹6,000 crore toward the establishment of these two campuses, with additional AHCs planned across India in future phases.

₹2,000 Cr Skill University in Mundra: Shaping Tomorrow’s Workforce

Complementing the healthcare thrust is a parallel investment of ₹2,000 crore in a world-class Skill University and Finishing School at Mundra, Gujarat. This institution will focus on building a globally competent workforce through Schools of Excellence, international certifications, and strategic partnerships with global players, including ITEES Singapore and the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC).

“Our goal is to create an education ecosystem aligned with the evolving needs of global industries,” Gautam Adani remarked. “The Skill University in Mundra is being designed to empower India’s youth, making them job-ready and globally relevant.”

Industry Impact and Broader Vision

These combined efforts signal a major philanthropic and developmental push by the Adani Group into critical nation-building sectors. By integrating healthcare, education, skill development, and research into a cohesive ecosystem, the group aims to set new standards in inclusive development, AI-powered health delivery, and future-forward education.

For the healthcare community, this move opens potential avenues for public-private partnerships, medical collaborations, clinical research opportunities, and healthtech innovation. Moreover, it reflects a rising trend among Indian conglomerates to invest in social infrastructure with a sustainability-first approach.

As the healthcare sector prepares for its next wave of transformation, the Adani Group’s ₹8,000 crore commitment could serve as a pivotal inflection point—bridging gaps in care access, workforce readiness, and technology adoption.
