In a strategic move to strengthen Delhi’s healthcare landscape, Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda inaugurated the newly built Max Super Speciality Hospital in Dwarka – a 300-bed, state-of-the-art greenfield facility developed by Max Healthcare Institute. The inauguration also coincided with the commencement of Max Healthcare’s 25-year journey, marking a dual milestone for the healthcare provider.
Positioned at the heart of South-West Delhi, the Dwarka facility is designed to meet the growing demand for advanced tertiary and quaternary care in the National Capital Region (NCR). Equipped with more than 120 critical-care beds, 10 modular operation theatres, and cutting-edge Cath Labs, the hospital underscores Max Healthcare’s focus on expanding high-quality infrastructure and delivering comprehensive, patient-centric services across multiple specialities.

Speaking at the launch, Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda said, “I congratulate Max Healthcare on establishing their 22nd hospital with the inauguration of Max Super Speciality Hospital, Dwarka. Institutions like Max are vital partners in our vision of a Viksit Bharat, where public-private partnerships play a crucial role in strengthening the healthcare ecosystem. As we focus on making healthcare more accessible, affordable, and equitable, I am confident that Max will continue to consistently deliver quality healthcare services and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s growth.”

Designed as a greenfield project over an expansive 8.62-acre site, the hospital has been awarded a 5-Star GRIHA rating – one of the highest recognitions for sustainable building practices in India. The infrastructure includes clean energy systems, zero-liquid discharge capabilities, electric vehicle charging stations, and daylight-optimised architecture. These sustainability features not only enhance operational efficiency but also showcase how modern healthcare can align with environmentally responsible development.
Delhi’s Health and Family Welfare Minister, Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh, who was also present at the event, emphasised the hospital’s regional impact. “Inauguration of Max Super Speciality Hospital, Dwarka marks another chapter of providing Delhi’s citizens with excellent and state-of-the-art medical services. The facilities here will offer improved healthcare and treatment not only to Delhi residents but also to people from neighbouring areas. Max Healthcare has not only expanded its footprint but has built an institution founded on excellence, compassion, and innovation,” he said.
From advanced cardiac sciences and oncology to neurosciences, renal sciences, gastroenterology, robotic surgery, paediatrics, and organ transplants, the Dwarka hospital is structured to handle high-acuity cases under one roof, enabling streamlined, multidisciplinary care and faster patient outcomes.
The launch is also part of Max Healthcare Institute’s larger vision to add approximately 3,700 beds by 2028 across key cities in India. Following Dwarka, the healthcare major has planned three more hospital inaugurations later this year in Mohali, Mumbai, and Saket, New Delhi.

Commenting on the expansion, Abhay Soi, Chairman and Managing Director, Max Healthcare Institute, stated, “Delhi-NCR is a critical hub for advanced medical care, and Dwarka, given its strong connectivity to multiple parts of Delhi, is perfectly positioned to meet the region’s growing healthcare needs. As a greenfield venture, this facility reflects our intent to expand meaningfully by building high-quality infrastructure in locations that improve accessibility. Max Super Speciality Hospital, Dwarka, is not just about adding capacity; it’s about creating a future-ready healthcare ecosystem, aligned with the region’s evolving needs.”
With this new addition, Max Healthcare continues to reinforce its leadership in the Indian healthcare ecosystem, leveraging innovation, sustainability, and integrated care models. The Dwarka facility stands as a testament to the potential of public-private collaboration in scaling access to quality healthcare while meeting the evolving demands of urban populations.
