Visionary supply chain strategist, Himanshu Gaur has taken on a new leadership role as Vice President – Supply Chain Management at Medanta – The Medcity, Gurugram. This marks a significant milestone in a distinguished career spanning over two decades in the healthcare and hospital supply chain domain.

A passionate leader, Himanshu brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in procurement, inventory control, strategic sourcing, and end-to-end supply chain optimization. His leadership is characterized by a deep commitment to cost efficiency, clinical excellence, vendor collaboration, and above all, customer-centricity—viewing supply chain as a critical enabler of patient outcomes.

Prior to his new role at Medanta, Himanshu served as Assistant Vice President – Central Procurement at CARE Hospitals, where he played an instrumental role in transforming procurement strategies for both medical and non-medical categories across the hospital chain. From negotiating high-impact contracts to streamlining central procurement functions and driving compliance with robust SOPs, his tenure at CARE was marked by innovation, process improvement, and measurable cost savings.

His past roles also include pivotal leadership positions at Columbia Asia Hospitals – as Senior Manager – Central Procurement & Group Pharmacy Head, where he led the strategic vendor and formulary implementation across 11 hospital units. Shalby Hospitals – where he spearheaded centralized negotiations for pharma, implants, and CAPEX/OPEX procurement. Fortis Healthcare, Surya Healthcare, and Artemis Hospitals – gaining holistic exposure to hospital procurement operations, warehouse management, merchandising, and multi-location SCM governance. 

Himanshu is a result-oriented and self-motivated leader with an unmatched passion for healthcare procurement. His ability to build and lead cross-functional teams, optimize indirect spends, and align cost-saving initiatives with clinical and operational goals has earned him immense respect in the healthcare fraternity.
