FUJIFILM India

On the occasion of World Health Day, FUJIFILM India marked a significant milestone in its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) journey by launching its latest healthcare initiative, “Care on Wheels,” in Himachal Pradesh. The initiative was formally inaugurated by Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil, Honourable Minister of Health and Welfare, Government of Himachal Pradesh, underscoring the state’s commitment to strengthening public health services.

With this launch, FUJIFILM India continues to demonstrate its leadership in healthcare innovation, aligning with its global Sustainable Value Plan 2030—an ambitious framework dedicated to advancing prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. “Care on Wheels” introduces an integrated healthcare delivery model that merges a static diagnostic center with a state-of-the-art mobile medical van, designed to bring critical diagnostic services directly to communities residing in hard-to-reach geographies.

Equipped with advanced diagnostic tools, including the DRI-CHEM NX600 automated clinical chemistry analyzer and the portable FDR Xair X-ray unit, the initiative ensures rapid and precise medical assessments. These technologies facilitate a wide range of services such as general health checkups, CBC tests, TB screening, X-ray diagnostics, 18+ blood tests, COPD screening, tele-radiology, and real-time tele-consultations with medical professionals.

The mobile unit, as part of the first operational phase, will cover the entire Mandi district, spanning an area of 3,950 km². This large-scale outreach aims to address healthcare disparities in rural and tribal belts by offering comprehensive, doorstep diagnostics and consultations—promoting timely disease detection and management.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Koji Wada, Managing Director, FUJIFILM India, stated, “At FUJIFILM India, we are committed to delivering innovative products and solutions that embody our Group purpose of ‘Giving Our World More Smiles.’ By blending diverse ideas, unique capabilities, and extraordinary people, we aim to create solutions that bring joy and smiles to the world. The ‘Care on Wheels’ initiative in Himachal Pradesh is a testimony to our mission of bringing high-quality medical diagnostics to every corner of the country. By leveraging our expertise and advanced medical equipment, we aim to create a significant impact in communities that needs it the most, ensuring that healthcare reaches everyone.”

Echoing the importance of reaching underserved areas, Mr. Abhi Shekhar Singh, Vertical Head, Corporate Communications & CSR, FUJIFILM India, said, “With our extensive work in Gujarat for Tuberculosis eradication, we have realised that there are opportunities in the diverse geographies to serve communities. There are regions untapped where accessible healthcare in the form of mobile radiology and mobile lab can make a considerable difference leading towards a healthy nation, thus aligning with FUJIFILM Group purpose of ‘Giving our world more smiles.’ With the efforts of Apollo Telemedicine Networking Foundation as our implementation partner, we are launching ‘Care on Wheels’ combining a static center with a mobile healthcare unit, to ensure that communities in remote areas gain access to rapid and reliable medical assessments, significantly improving early detection and treatment outcomes.”

This CSR-driven project is a part of FUJIFILM India’s broader commitment to addressing unmet healthcare needs through accessible diagnostics and early disease detection. As a healthcare technology leader, the company’s investments in socially responsible healthcare delivery reflect its strategic intent to close the rural healthcare access gap, one district at a time.

By championing a hybrid model of telemedicine and mobile diagnostics, FUJIFILM India is not only strengthening the healthcare infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh but also setting a precedent for scalable and inclusive healthcare solutions across India.
