
In a significant boost to India’s healthcare sector, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the first phase of the 450-bedded Namo Hospital in Silvassa. The ₹460 crore state-of-the-art facility is designed to provide world-class medical services to the region, enhancing healthcare accessibility and infrastructure.
Alongside the hospital inauguration, PM Modi launched multiple public welfare projects worth over ₹2,500 crore. These initiatives span across healthcare, education, and critical infrastructure development, reinforcing the government’s commitment to holistic regional progress.

A key highlight of the event was the presentation of Misso, India’s first indigenously developed AI-powered robotic system for knee replacement surgery. Developed by Meril, a leading medical technology company, Misso was demonstrated by Meril’s CEO, Vivek Shah, in the presence of the Prime Minister.

Misso represents a proud milestone in India’s journey towards self-reliance in advanced medical technology,” said Vivek Shah, CEO, Meril.

The AI-powered robotic system is set to revolutionize orthopedic surgeries by enabling greater precision, faster recovery times, and improved overall patient outcomes. The introduction of such pioneering medical technology further strengthens India’s position in the global healthcare innovation landscape.

During his visit, PM Modi reviewed a 3D model of the upcoming Namo Hospital, appreciating its modern medical infrastructure and advanced facilities.
