In a significant move to curb the escalating burden of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) in India, the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has launched an Intensified Special NCD Screening Campaign. Running from February 20 to March 31, 2025, the campaign aims to achieve 100% screening coverage for all individuals aged 30 years and above, focusing on prevalent NCDs, including Diabetes, Hypertension, and three common cancers—Oral, Breast, and Cervical.
This comprehensive initiative will be executed nationwide across Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs) and other healthcare facilities under the National Programme for Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NP-NCD).

Key Highlights of the NCD Screening Campaign
- Door-to-Door Outreach: Trained ASHAs, ANMs, and frontline healthcare workers will conduct community visits to ensure comprehensive screening coverage. The campaign targets rural, semi-urban, and urban populations, prioritizing hard-to-reach areas.
- Essential Medical Supplies: States and Union Territories (UTs) will ensure the availability of essential screening and diagnostic tools, including BP monitors, glucometers, and necessary medications at all healthcare centers.
- Real-Time Monitoring: Daily data updates on screening, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-ups will be uploaded to the NP-NCD Portal, ensuring transparency, accountability, and real-time progress tracking.
- Multi-Level Coordination: Nodal officers will be appointed at facility, block, district, and state levels to facilitate seamless execution and resolve operational challenges.
- Daily Progress Review: States and UTs will submit daily progress reports to the Ministry by 6 PM, ensuring continuous monitoring and timely technical assistance.

Government’s Vision for Preventive Healthcare
This intensified screening drive aligns with the Government of India’s commitment to strengthening preventive healthcare under the Ayushman Bharat initiative.
