World Cancer Awareness

In a significant step towards raising awareness about breast cancer, Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals Limited has partnered with Apollo Hospitals to host a series of engaging awareness sessions, coinciding with World Cancer Awareness Month. These sessions took place at Akums’ Corporate Office in New Delhi and at its subsidiary, Akumentis Healthcare Limited, in Mumbai.

Employees at both locations participated in the educational programs, featuring esteemed medical professionals. In New Delhi, Dr. Parag Kumar, Senior Oncologist from Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, served as the keynote speaker, while in Mumbai, Dr. Dipalee Borade, a specialist in Radiology and Oncology at Apollo Hospital, led the session.

Each event combined informative presentations with interactive discussions and a Q&A session, allowing over 200 employees at both venues to engage directly with experts. The sessions highlighted the critical importance of early detection, symptom recognition, and preventive care for breast cancer, fostering a deep understanding of the disease’s impact.

The enthusiasm of the participants was evident as they actively asked questions and engaged with the medical professionals. This year’s focus on breast cancer awareness aligns with the global observance of ‘Pink October’ a month dedicated to increasing awareness of cancer issues worldwide.

Shri Sanjeev Jain, Co-Founder & Managing Director of Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals Limited, expressed his support for the initiative, stating, “In today’s fast-paced world, it is more important than ever to prioritize our health. At Akums, we begin by raising awareness within our own community before extending those efforts to the public. Our employees’ active involvement in these initiatives shows their dedication to fostering knowledge and awareness.”

The Human Resource and Administration teams at Akums and Akumentis, alongside the Marketing Department of Apollo Hospitals, were instrumental in organizing these impactful sessions.

At Akums, the well-being of employees remains a top priority, with a range of health-related initiatives such as awareness programs, health camps, and recreational activities designed to promote physical and mental well-being. Through these efforts, Akums continues to empower its workforce with knowledge and fosters a supportive environment for vital conversations around health and cancer awareness.
