Max Healthcare Institute Ltd, has disclosed plans to invest approximately INR 2500 Crore for the enhancement of top-tier healthcare infrastructure in Lucknow. The significant investment accompanies the renaming of Sahara Hospital to Max Super Speciality Hospital, Lucknow.

Max Healthcare recently concluded the acquisition of Sahara Hospital, encompassing 550 beds, on a slump sale basis from Sahara India Medical Institute Limited, valued at INR 940 Crore. Strategically located in the heart of Lucknow, Max Super Speciality Hospital currently operates with 285 beds and occupies a sprawling 27-acre land parcel in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, a prominent residential and commercial locale.

This acquisition marks the initiation of Max Healthcare’s ambitious agenda to expand its footprint and investments in the region. The planned investment of INR 2500 Crore encompasses the establishment of a new 500-bed hospital on a 5.6-acre plot at Shaheed Path, alongside capacity augmentation at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Lucknow. Moreover, the investment will facilitate the integration of cutting-edge medical technologies such as Robotics and advanced treatments like Radiation Therapy in Oncology and various organ transplants, including Liver, Kidneys, Bone Marrow, heart, and lung transplants. Additionally, there will be a concerted effort towards bolstering Nursing Education.

Max Healthcare is earmarking INR 150-200 Crore for the upgrade of medical infrastructure, the addition of 265 beds, and the renovation of civil infrastructure at Max Super Speciality Hospital. This revamp will entail the establishment of the state-of-the-art Max Institute of Cancer Care, reinforcement of the Organ Transplantation program, and the introduction of cutting-edge Robotic Surgical systems.

With this development, Max Healthcare positions itself as the largest private healthcare network in Uttar Pradesh, boasting over 2000 beds and catering to 1.5 million individuals. The expanded Max Super Speciality Hospital in Lucknow will serve as a vital healthcare hub not only for the city but also for the surrounding regions, including Eastern and Central Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
