Art Sound Center

In a bid to address the escalating need for advanced auditory care in Northeast India, Widex, a renowned brand within the WS Audiology group, has launched its premier Sound Center in Guwahati, Assam. This pioneering initiative marks a significant milestone in the region’s healthcare landscape, offering cutting-edge solutions to combat hearing impairments.

Mr. Avinash Pawar, CEO of WS Audiology India, highlighted the significance of this inauguration, stating, “The opening of our doors in Guwahati signifies our unwavering commitment to improving auditory health, particularly in regions as culturally diverse as Northeast India.”

Guwahati, like many rapidly developing cities, has witnessed a surge in hearing-related issues, attributed to lifestyle and environmental factors. The establishment of Widex’s latest Sound Center aims to tackle this pressing concern by providing innovative hearing care solutions tailored to the needs of the local community.

The new facility boasts a comprehensive range of services, including state-of-the-art hearing aid technology, personalized audiological consultations, and ongoing support. Jermica, Chief Audiologist and Director at Assam Sound Centre, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “We are proud to join forces with Widex in this endeavor to enhance the lives of individuals with hearing impairments and make a meaningful impact on Assam’s healthcare sector.”

The Assam Sound Center builds upon the success of its predecessor, the Ready2hear Sound Center in Shillong, which commenced operations in December 2014 and was upgraded to a sound center in November 2021. Specializing in professional consultations, hearing services, speech therapy, and other audiology facilities, the center is dedicated to providing comprehensive care with a personal touch.

Globally, hearing loss affects a staggering 1.6 billion people, with approximately 430 million experiencing some form of impairment. Despite the availability of intervention measures such as hearing aids, only a mere 20% of those affected have access to these crucial devices. This gap in care underscores the need for initiatives like the Assam Sound Center, which aims to mitigate the societal ramifications of hearing loss, including isolation, mental health challenges, and hindered career opportunities.

The launch of Widex’s Sound Center in Guwahati signifies a significant step towards bridging the gap in auditory healthcare services and ensuring that individuals with hearing impairments can enjoy the gift of sound with dignity and independence.
