In a proactive effort to combat breast cancer, the HCG NMR Cancer Centre in Hubli organised an impactful Bikeathon. This initiative, aimed at raising awareness about the criticality of early breast cancer detection, was launched by Veena Chetan Baradwad, the Mayor of Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation. The event witnessed an overwhelming response, with over 400 bikers participating.
The route of the Bikeathon traced a circuit through the city, starting from the HCG NMR Cancer Centre and passing through notable landmarks such as I.B. Circle, Channamma Circle, Mission Compound, and Unkal Lake. This route selection not only showcased the scenic beauty of Hubli but also demonstrated the commitment of the community to breast cancer awareness.

Veena Chetan Baradwad, addressing the attendees, praised the initiative, highlighting the dual benefits of promoting physical well-being and raising awareness about crucial health issues like breast cancer. Dr. Milind Shetti and Dr. Santosh Chikkareddi of HCG NMR Cancer Centre also emphasised the importance of awareness and early detection in combating breast cancer.

The Bikeathon, more than just a cycling event, was a testament to the unity and determination of Hubli’s residents in fighting against breast cancer. It underscored the importance of community involvement in healthcare initiatives and stood as a shining example of how collective efforts can make a significant impact in raising awareness about critical health issues.
