The Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar, has announced the widening of the Ayushman/Chirayu health scheme to include families with an annual income between ₹1.80 lakh and ₹3 lakh. Previously, the scheme was available exclusively to families earning below ₹1.80 lakh. This enhancement is expected to benefit an additional 38,000 families.

Simultaneously, the state has rolled out a new cashless health benefit for its government employees and retirees. In its first stage, 894 staff members from the departments of fisheries and horticulture will be covered under this initiative. Officials have indicated that there are plans to extend these health benefits to workers in other state departments in the future.

The expansion of health benefits coincided with festivities at Haryana Raj Bhawan for Haryana Day, where Governor Bandaru Dattatraya and CM Manohar Lal Khattar extended their greetings to the public. The event saw the attendance of several dignitaries, including Vidhan Sabha Speaker Gian Chand Gupta, Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare J P Dalal, Deputy Speaker Ranbir Gangwa, and Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal, along with TVSN Prasad, the Additional Chief Secretary (Home). Former minister Ram Bilas Sharma, alongside high-ranking officials from the Army, Police, and other departments, also partook in the celebrations.
