Aam Aadmi Clinics

Punjab State Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has taken significant strides by establishing 583 Aam Aadmi Clinics across the state to ensure accessible and quality healthcare services for its residents. To further strengthen the healthcare infrastructure, the government plans to add 75 more Aam Aadmi Clinics shortly.

Chief Secretary, Anurag Verma, expressed these developments in a press release after a productive video conferencing meeting with all Deputy Commissioners, where they reviewed the progress of Aam Aadmi Clinics in the region.

Highlighting the State Government’s commitment to prioritising healthcare, Anurag Verma urged the DCs to complete the establishment of 75 Aam Aadmi Clinics within the next 10 days. He further instructed them to conduct regular visits to these clinics, with DCs personally visiting 10 percent of Aam Aadmi Clinics in their respective districts every month. Additionally, SDMs were tasked with visiting all clinics within their sub-divisions to gather feedback from patients on the ground realities, availability of medicines, and diagnostic services. The objective is to ensure patient satisfaction and identify areas for improvement. A comprehensive report on the findings is to be submitted to the Chief Secretary and the Health Department.

The Aam Aadmi Clinics have been lauded for their provision of 80 types of free medicines and 41 diagnostic tests, catering to the medical needs of patients without any cost burden. Each clinic is staffed with a Medical Officer, Pharmacist, Clinic Assistant (multipurpose female worker), and Helper cum Sweeper, ensuring efficient healthcare delivery.

The meeting witnessed the presence of Principal Secretary VP Singh and Secretary Dr. Abhinav Trikha from the Health and Family Welfare Department.

With this dedicated approach towards enhancing healthcare accessibility, Punjab aims to bring quality medical services right to the doorsteps of its citizens through the network of Aam Aadmi Clinics.
