The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Masters of Dental Surgery 2022 (NEET-MDS) is expected to be postponed by four to six weeks. The mandatory rotating internship for eligibility of admission which was assumed to be done by March 31, 2022, will now have to be completed by July 31, 2022. This was stated in an official statement by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.


In the statement, the ministry of health said, “It has been decided by the Competent Authority that the date for the conduct of NEET-MDS examination, 2022 may be postponed by 4-6 weeks and preferably around the same date as that for NEET-PG 2022.”

The letter by the ministry said, “It is informed that the matter has been examined in this Ministry and in order to bring parity between the NEET-MDS 2022 and NEET PG 2022 examination, it has been decided by the Competent Authority that the date for the conduct of NEET-MDS examination 2022 may be postponed by 4-6 weeks and preferably around the same date as that for NEET-PG 2022.”

The United Doctors Front Association had earlier requested the extension of NEET-MDS 2022 and also to extend the date of completion of a compulsory rotating internship for eligibility for admission to MDS courses to March 31, 2022.
