Omicron cases touches 33

33 cases of the covid-19 variant of Omicron have been reported in India with 17 cases in Maharashtra, nine in Rajasthan, three in Gujarat and two cases each in Karnataka and Delhi. Section 144 CrPC was imposed in Mumbai today and on 12th December, in wake of Omicron cases in the state.

Delhi’s second case was reported today and the person has been admitted to the LNJP hospital that has been designated for patients infected with the Omicron variant of Covid-19.


Meanwhile, according to the data released by the Ministry of Health and Family welfare, 86 per cent of the adult population in the country has been administered one dose of the vaccine while 53.5 per cent has received both the doses. A total of 131.98 crore doses of anti-Covid jabs were administered in the country till 9.30pm on Friday.

In recent developments likely to cause disruptions in the country’s Covid vaccination drive, more than 200 syringe factories in Faridabad have been asked to close down under the anti-pollution drive in the Delhi-NCR.
