NEET PG Counselling Postponed

The centre has told the Supreme Court to postpone NEET-PG counselling by four weeks as it revisits and decides on the criteria for ascertaining the EWS category. The centre will revisit the limit of Rs. 8 Lakh annual income fixed for determining the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category for reservation in NEET admissions for Post-Graduate medical courses.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta informed a bench consisting of Justices DY Chandrachud, Surya Kant, and Vikram Nath that a committee will be formulated to determine the criteria for EWS and it would take four weeks. The counselling for NEET PG courses will be on hold till that time period.
