Doors to international travel are opening up again as 96 countries have given consent to mutual recognition of Covid-19 vaccination certificates with India. The 96 countries that have recognised Covaxin and Covishield include Canada, US, Australia, Spain, UK, France, Germany, Belgium, Russia and Switzerland along with others informed Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya. He further stated that communications are on with more countries to allow ease of travel, business and education for Indians vaccinated with Covishield or Covaxin.

According to government data, over 109 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered so far in the country. The central government had recently launched the “Har Ghar Dastak” mega vaccination campaign with healthcare workers going for door-to-door vaccination.

“The ministry of health along with the ministry of external affairs is in continuous communication with all countries for mutual recognition of vaccine certificates, and WHO and nationally approved vaccines to facilitate hassle-free international travel across countries,” the minister shared.
