Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha has become the first Indian city to achieve 100% Covid-19 vaccination coverage. Also, around one lakh migrant workers have also been inoculated the maiden dose of the Covid-19 vaccines in India’s eastern city.
Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation’s South-east Zonal Deputy Commissioner Anshuman Rath has said that the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation had targeted to administer 100% of its population by 31 July 31. He said that the municipal body inoculated the second shot to 9,07,000 people above the 18 years age group. This includes about 33,000 frontline workers, 31,000 health workers, 5,17,000 people in the 18-45 age group and 3,20,000 people above 45 years of age. Around 18,35,000 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine have been reportedly administered till July 30 2021.”
