Eminent neurologist and Padma Shri awardee Dr Ashok Panagariya passed away due to post-Covid complications today. Dr Panagariya was 71.
Dr Ashok was reportedly on ventilator support for the last several days at a private hospital. His condition deteriorated in the past two days and he died today.
Dr Ashok Panagariya held many top positions, including Vice-Chancellor of Jaipur’s Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, and a member of the Government of Rajasthan’s Planning Board.

He was a recipient of Dr B C Roy Award, the highest Indian award in the medical category. Dr Ashok was awarded Padma Shri, the fourth highest Indian civilian award by the Government of India in 2014.
