Dr Randeep Guleria, AIIMS Delhi Director, has said that while the Covid-19 vaccines may not prevent people from infections, it will prevent them from severe illness.
Dr Guleria observed that many are questioning on the need of vaccination as some people who got shots tested Covid-19 positive even after two weeks of vaccination. The vaccine, underscored, prevents people from getting the Covid-19 disease in severe form such as severe illness, hospitalisation, and admission in ICUs or even death.

He further stated that anti-bodies produced due to the vaccine will prevent the virus to further replicate. The vaccines will not allow the Covid-19 disease to attain more severe form to save lives.

Dr Guleria also stressed on need to use facemasks and follow the Covid-19 Appropriate Behaviour despite vaccination.
