Sunil Sharma who is presently posted as Joint Secretary in the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, has got an extension for the period of an year in his Central deputation tenure.
His tenure in the central deputation was supposed to end on May 18. With the extension of an year, Sharma would now hold the post till May 18 next year.
The extension comes at a time of corona crisis with the Health Ministry being at forefront to combat the situation.
Sharma is an 1985 batch IRPS officer. Before Health Ministry, he served in the Indian Railway and Delhi Development Authority(DDA). He was Commissioner(Personnel) in DDA, Chief Personnel Officer in the Indian Railway, and Group General Manager in RailTel Corporation of India Ltd.
