COVID-19 Pandemic

Delhi has recorded the highest single day spike in COVID-19 cases with 427 fresh cases reported on Sunday. With the fresh cases, the total tally has mounted to 4,500 in the national capital– 3,123 active, 1,362 recovered, and 64 deaths.

It has a total of 94 containment zones where normal activities have been seized due to a large number of COVID-19 cases.

This came hours after the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced the list of activities which will be allowed during the two-week lockdown period in the national capital.

“After the Centre’s announcement, the Delhi government held a detailed discussion to finalise the activities that will be allowed during the two-week lockdown,” said Kejriwal during a video conference.

“From tomorrow, all government offices will open. Those dealing with essential services will have 100 percent attendance. Only 33 per cent attendance will be allowed in offices dealing with non-essential activities,” he said.
