NTA to conduct NEET UG 2020 exam

The National Testing Agency will most likely be conducting NEET UG 2020 in the month of June due to the ongoing Coronavirus Pandemic which has wreaked havoc worldwide including India.

With the second phase of COVID-19 lockdown in place, sources claim that it is most unlikely that NTA will be able to conduct the Joint Entrance Examination and the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) before the 2nd-3rd week of June.

According to media reports, sources in the Ministry of Human Resource and Development said it would be impossible to conduct the exam before June as several boards have yet not conducted Class 12 or the Senior Secondary exams due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Earlier NTA announced that candidates could carry out correction and change of exam centers in NEET 2020 and JEE Main 2020 until 3rd May. The announcement was made after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the second spell of lockdown till May 3.

When asked about the development, a senior official at NTA was quoted by media reports stating that no such decision has been taken by the Agency as yet. He also urged candidates to rely on the official notification uploaded on the official website or issued by the MHRD.
