Jyothy Laboratories Ltd (JLL) has announced the appointment of M R Jyothy as Managing Director. Her appointment will come into effect from April 1, 2020. MP Ramachandran, who was earlier heading this position, will continue to serve as the Chairman Emeritus of the company.
Jyothy has been a part of Jyothy Labs for 14 years and her expertise lies in marketing and brand communication. In her last held designation, she was the Chief Marketing Officer and the Whole Time Director of the company. She has been instrumental in integrating brands like Henko, Pril and Margo and has successfully handled post-acquisition operations of Henkel India. The company also unveiled its new logo today.
On her appointment, Jyothy said, “I am honoured to be taking charge as the Managing Director of Jyothy Laboratories. My top priorities will be to further strengthen the power brands with enhanced focused towards innovation and continuous Research & Development. In addition, I aim to strengthen the sales & distribution of the company.”

“I will strive my best to continue the legacy built by my father, by keeping the culture and value system intact while growing the company further,” she added.
Ramachandran said: “I’m very happy that the next generation is ready to take charge with responsibility and are well qualified, well trained to take the company to the next level of growth. I’m very confident that my daughter MR Jyothy as the Managing Director will deliver results to all the stake holders of the company. Over the last 36 years, we have come a long way from one brand Ujala Company to a multi brand FMCG national company.”
“Jyothy has been on the board for the last 14 years, and has observed the functioning of the company from close quarters. She is associated with the company from a very long time in senior management team and I’m sure that along with other experienced and qualified professionals at the helm, the company is geared for next level of accelerated growth,” he added.
