HealthcarePrime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated a series of projects in Haryana to do away existing infrastructural barrier in the direction of making healthcare delivery accessible, affordable, and cost-efficient.

Narendra Modi inaugurated National Cancer Institute (NIC) at Badhsa in Jhajjar district and ESIC Medical College and Hospital in Faridabad on Tuesday. He also laid foundation stones for series of other projects including Shri Krishna Ayush University at Kurukshetra and National Institute of Ayurveda in Panchkula.


The Rs 2,035-crore NIC was inaugurated through video conferencing by the Prime Minister.

The state-of-the-art tertiary cancer care-cum-research institute, constructed on the AIIMS Jhajjar campus, will have facilities such as 700 beds, surgical oncology, radiation oncology, medical oncology, anaesthesia, palliative care and nuclear medicine, besides hostel rooms for doctors and attendants of cancer patients, an official communiqué was quoted as saying.


ESIC Medical College and Hospital in Faridabad is the first ESIC Medical College and Hospital in North India and has 510 beds.

Foundation stones were laid for projects including National Institute of Ayurveda at Shri Mata Mansa Devi temple complex in Panchkula; Sri Krishna Ayush University, the first varsity related to Indian system of medicine in Haryana as well as first-of-its kind in India; and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay University of Health Sciences in Karnal.
