With an aim to increase awareness about cancer, a day-long screening and awareness camp was organised at Horizon Plaza, DLF5, Gurugram recently. The camp which saw participation from hundreds of corporate working in One Horizon and Two Horizon was organised jointly by DLF5 and DLF Foundation.


Talking about the motive why the screening camp was organised, Vinay Sahni, CEO, DLF Foundation said, This initiative aims to provide people with information, resources, and assistance to find convenient access to services and programmes for prevention and early detection of cancer. With the alarming speed at which cancer has spread across the nation, there is a need to educate people about the importance of its early screening to ensure control and treatment at the earliest.

The camp was organised to mark World Cancer Day which would be observed on February 4.

World Cancer Day is commemorated worldwide to create awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment.


Cancer is a deadly disease. As prevention is better than cure, such noble initiatives are a must to ensure healthy living and should be undertaken more frequently, said Anmol Garg, a corporate professional who participated in the camp.

According to report the highest numbers of cancer cases are recorded from Haryana followed by Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.

DLF Mobile Wellness Unit, an initiative of DLF Foundation was stationed at Horizon Plaza which facilitated free of cost early detection and screening of prostate, cervical and breast cancer. A team of doctors including a gynecologist, pathologist, and lab technicians conducted the screening camp.
